This is my favorite hotel in Chamonix. It is a nice two star, nothing fancy, but a good value in Chamonix and nicer than other **’s. If you want a shower and toilet in the room, be sure to specify and it will cost a little more. I recommend just getting the breakfast also (“demi-pension”).

The Touring is a summer hub for American climbers and mountain guides. They are English and are very helpful. It is a very good value, but can be noisy outside your window during the night due to some close bars.

Rustic and nice with super views of Mt. Blanc. You might want a car if you stay here. An incredible fancy French restaurant–they grow all their own vegetables.

Stay in the same hotel as Edward Wymper during his first Ascent of the Matterhorn. Nice old hotel, still quite sophisticated.
